Raw Food Nutrition Without the Raw Food Hassle

Raw Food Nutrition Without the Raw Food Hassle

Raw dog food diets have genuine nutritional appeal, but they come with real practical downsides — thawing, handling raw meat safely, and storage limitations that don't fit every household. Zeal's Salmon & Duck Air-Dried Dog Food was specifically built to deliver raw-style nutrition while sidestepping those exact hassles.

96% real meat as the genuine foundation

Rather than relying on fillers or meat meal as a base, the recipe is made with 96% salmon, duck, duck liver, and duck tripe — a meat-first formulation that puts genuine animal protein at the centre of the recipe rather than as a minor flavouring ingredient.

Gentle air-drying, not high-heat processing

The food is specifically air-dried using a traditional method that gently circulates air to naturally evaporate moisture — rather than high-heat extrusion processing common in standard kibble, a method chosen specifically to preserve nutrients, flavour, and aroma that heat processing can otherwise degrade.

No thawing or rehydrating required

Unlike fresh or frozen raw diets requiring careful thawing and handling, Zeal's air-dried format is ready to serve directly from the bag — removing the storage and preparation hassle that often makes raw feeding impractical for busy households.

Green-lipped mussels and turmeric for targeted joint support

Beyond the core protein, the recipe includes green-lipped mussels and turmeric root — ingredients specifically included for their recognised joint-supporting properties, addressing a genuine health consideration beyond basic nutrition alone.

Grain-free formulation with genuinely minimal additives

The recipe contains no grains, fillers, artificial colours, or artificial preservatives — vitamins, minerals, and naturally sourced ingredients provide the complete nutritional profile instead, relevant for owners specifically avoiding grain-based or heavily processed dog food formulations.

Formulated by veterinary dieticians to recognised standards

The recipe is specifically formulated by veterinary dieticians to meet AAFCO standards for complete and balanced daily nutrition — an important baseline assurance that the food can genuinely serve as a dog's primary diet rather than only as a supplementary treat.

Suitable across life stages and breeds

The formula is designed to be appropriate for dogs of all life stages and breeds — removing the need to switch formulas as a dog ages, from puppy through to senior years, within this particular recipe.

Genuinely positive feedback on palatability

Independent customer reviews consistently highlight how enthusiastically dogs respond to the food, with reviewers specifically noting the real, non-artificial smell of actual salmon and duck when opening the bag — a detail that matters directly for picky eaters.

At a glance

Who it suits

This food suits dog owners wanting the nutritional benefits associated with raw feeding without the thawing, handling, and storage challenges that fresh or frozen raw diets involve, particularly for dogs with joint concerns or picky eating habits. Anyone transitioning a dog to a new food should do so gradually over several days to allow their digestive system to adjust, and should consult their vet first if their dog has specific dietary restrictions or health conditions.
