A Promotional Set That's Already Appreciating, Not Just A Throwaway Freebie

A Promotional Set That's Already Appreciating, Not Just A Throwaway Freebie

Gift-with-purchase LEGO sets are sometimes seen as minor throwaways rather than genuine collectables. The Scary Haunted Tree is already defying that expectation, with tracked resale values rising well above its original retail price.

A genuine light-up and motion feature

The tree includes a button-activated light brick that makes its mouth glow, combined with a knob mechanism on the back that lets the branches wave back and forth — two distinct interactive functions rather than a static display piece.

A substantial 218-piece build

At 218 pieces, the set offers a genuinely engaging build experience for its size, rather than being an overly simple promotional throwaway.

Two additional side builds included

Beyond the main tree, the set includes a pumpkin build and a crow build — genuine additional content that extends the play and display value beyond a single model.

Compact enough for genuine everyday display

At just over 16cm high, 7cm long, and 17cm wide, the finished model is specifically sized to display on a windowsill, desk, shelf, or bedside table — practical for year-round storage and quick seasonal display.

A notable rise in tracked resale value

Independent set-value tracking shows the 40900 Scary Haunted Tree has risen to around $32 for new, sealed sets — a 60% increase from its original $19.99 retail price, reflecting genuine demand as a limited promotional release.

A genuine Halloween theme within LEGO's Creator line

The set sits within LEGO's Creator Seasonal range, specifically designed as a Halloween-themed building set — part of a recognised, ongoing seasonal collection rather than a one-off novelty.

Suitable for builders aged 8 and up

The set is designed for ages 8 and over, making it accessible to younger builders while still offering enough complexity and interactive features to engage older Halloween and LEGO enthusiasts.
