PURITI Germany: MGO 200+, 550+ and 850+ Manuka Honey Compared

PURITI's MGO 200+, MGO 550+ and MGO 850+ jars differ in certified methylglyoxal concentration and pack size, not in a proven ability to treat illness. The merchant maps MGO 200+ to UMF 8+, MGO 550+ to UMF 15+ and MGO 850+ to UMF 20+.

Read the grade as a composition measure

MGO 200+ means the honey is certified to contain at least 200 mg methylglyoxal per kilogram. The captured 500 g product is the larger everyday pack among the selected pages. MGO 550+ raises that minimum to 550 mg/kg and is also available in the reviewed 500 g format. MGO 850+ states at least 850 mg/kg; the selected page is a 250 g jar.

A higher number indicates more of the measured marker, not automatically better taste, value or suitability. PURITI says the honey is harvested, tested, certified and packed in New Zealand. Verify the batch code and seal on delivery and use the maker's authenticity route if provided.

Compare amount and concentration separately

A 500 g MGO 200+ jar contains more total food by weight than a 250 g MGO 850+ jar, while the latter has the higher concentration per kilogram. Buyers should not compare only the front-label number or only jar size. Intended culinary use and how quickly the jar will be consumed matter.

Manuka honey remains a sugar-rich food. The grade is not a medical dosage and this article does not recommend ingestion for a condition. Honey must not be given to children under 12 months because of infant-botulism risk. People managing diabetes, allergies or dietary restrictions should obtain appropriate advice.

Choose MGO 200+ when a lower certified grade and larger selected pack fit the intended food use; MGO 550+ is the middle concentration; MGO 850+ is the highest of these three in a smaller reviewed jar. Prices and therapeutic claims are deliberately omitted.
