Schnelltest-Check: STREPA’LERT, MENO-Check and THYRO-Check Compared

Schnelltest-Check lists self-tests for unrelated questions. STREPA’LERT uses a throat swab to detect group-A beta-haemolytic streptococci. MENO-Check uses an antibody test for FSH and marks concentrations above 25 mIU/ml. THYRO-Check uses whole blood to detect elevated TSH and states a ten-minute result.

A result is not a diagnosis

STREPA’LERT addresses one bacterial cause of sore throat; a negative result does not rule out other infection or serious illness. Sampling quality and timing affect results. Breathing difficulty, inability to swallow fluids, severe illness or rapidly worsening symptoms require medical assessment rather than repeat home testing.

MENO-Check detects elevated FSH, which can fluctuate and can be affected by age, cycle timing and hormonal medicines. A positive result is not by itself a diagnosis of menopause, nor does a negative result explain symptoms. Follow the instructions for repeat testing and discuss consequential decisions with a clinician.

THYRO-Check screens for elevated TSH in capillary blood. Thyroid diagnosis uses clinical context and laboratory testing, often including free thyroid hormones. Medication, pregnancy and illness can change interpretation. Do not alter thyroid medicine based on a self-test.

Compare specimen and next step

The throat-swab technique for STREPA’LERT is entirely different from the urine or blood procedures associated with other kits. MENO-Check's current instructions must establish specimen type and timing; THYRO-Check requires a finger-prick blood sample. Check expiry, storage temperature, intact packaging and control-line behaviour before trusting any result.

Choose only the test matching the exact question and intended user. Read the entire leaflet before collecting a sample and know in advance what professional follow-up a positive, negative or invalid result requires. These products do not provide emergency care. No performance percentage or price is claimed here because the captured pages do not establish a complete independent accuracy comparison.
